1. Explain what you think each word means when it is used to make a comparison.a) ratio to say a thing is more or less liked or used than something else.

–2) Give an example of a situation using each concept to compare two quantities. (150 total seventh graders, 80 girls, 70 boys)

80/150= 53%
-c) fraction
80/150= 8/15
-d) difference- 80 - 70 = 10 girls than boys

(one small thing to help save our planet! :) http://www.ourearth.org/Let's say that my original paper is 8 inches by 10 inches. I type in 50% to the copier to reduce the paper. Using the math reflection rubric I handed out this year, answer the following questions on your blog (1 bonus point for answering in paragraph form instead of question/answer form):

1) Compare the oringinal paper's side lengths to the new paper's side lengths.
the side lenghts will be half the size of the original paper
2) Compare the angles of the original to the new paper.
the angles will not change
3) Compare the area of the new paper to the area of the original.
the area will be 2x less than the original
